Fundamentalism vs. Moderation

Over at EconLog, Bryan Caplan raises some interesting points about religious fundamentalists vs. moderates. I think he may be a little too black-and-white (fundamentalist?) on the issue of textual interpretation, which is why I left the comment there that I did.
