Or that Chinese are and should be only interested in an all-Chinese curriculum. We need to be less racially segregationalist, not more. Still, I would welcome some high school history classes that actually dealt with African, Asian, etc. history. Most typically students get American history and World History. With the latter, the teacher has to decide whether to focus on European or non-European history (my high school teacher decided to focus on the latter, meaning I never got any European history until college). American high schools need to have classes on 1) U.S. history, 2) European history, 3) History of the Western Hemisphere, and 4) World History (Africa and Asia). A history class a year? Absolutely.Troy Camplinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16515578686042143845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7910834.post-87777178186066680052008-01-22T11:10:00.000-06:002008-01-22T11:10:00.000-06:00There's a lot of talk in Canada about opening one ...There's a lot of talk in Canada about opening one or more publicly funded all-black schools in the Toronto area. Students of all ethnicities will be free to attend (as far as I know), but the curriculum will be "black-focused" in an attempt to engage black students, who are dropping out in record numbers.

I guess no matter what they did with the public school curriculum it couldn't get much worse than it is already. It's still a spectacularly bad idea, though.

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1126753727013_118/?hub=CanadaAMJohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02312740064923045194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7910834.post-38339973125743940232008-01-22T03:54:00.000-06:002008-01-22T03:54:00.000-06:00What an excellent evaluation of the world today.
