It is time we had an interdisciplinary world. It is time we created a society where all levels of thinking and society can work together – so the individual psychologies can live together in a more integrated society. Interdisciplinary thinking tries to promote environmentalism, capitalism, religion, heroic individualism, and families simultaneously. Beauty, truth, and ethics are united.

It seems cliché to blame this on "liberalism," but from the information given, it seems appropriate, alas. After the Holocaust, one can understand Europe's sensitivity towards perceived racism, but one should expect that the same historical circumstances would highlight the importance of freedom of speech and the public's ability to evaluate ideas for themselves.
Unrelated but interesting juxtaposition: one of the conditions of a school-sponsored scholarship I applied for at UTD this year was that I not be a member of the communist party.
Wow. I didn't think there were still remnants of that in the U.S. Of course, since it does, I'm not surprised that it's in Texas.
